Two Dope Boys in a Mini Van

A long long, long, long, long time ago, before the beginning of time, there was these boys. A band… They called themselves 46forum. Everyone they knew though, called them Outkast.

These boys you see, were not yet men. They were not… I don’t know how you would say… They were not ahead of their time. They did though live a reality that screamed of the future.

Funny how life lives itself out. Truly it is an astonishing thing life. What was I saying?

Oh yeah! Them 46 boys… They read a lot. They wrote a lot. They fit in and made people laugh, everywhere they were. They never hid who they were. They never cared to politic for friends or companionship. No. They had each other. People did one of two things when they met those boys. They loved them or they hated them. There was then, like there is now, no in between. Oddly, for as much as people laughed around those guys, they sure were quick to put them down and tell them they couldn’t. They must have felt so insecure. Poor people who have also not made it. (Don’t go Crow. Don’t go Crow.)

They had a brotherhood between them and for lots of years, there was a revolving door of other members to their crew. Some stayed, some left. Some even passed. Sadly this is true…

Those boys though grew. They became men. They struggled and battled and won more than they lost. They loved life like they wanted. They loved within their own rules. They lived that way too. They were family to each other’s family and they were there anytime strength needed some sharing. I saw it all. I was there.

Someone asked me recently why they stopped collaboration. All I could say was this

Not clashing not at all, see Old School went to do a little acting.

But hear this Gangsters! They’re older now. The game has changed. They worked on their craft and they reviewed their mistakes. See one thing about Sid the Squid and Old School Joe is, they been walking this earth since the beginning of time. They seen it. They been it. They lived it and now they have a control over their powers. Sometimes Old School Joe should tell a mutherfukker not to get married. Sometimes Sid the Squid shouldn’t go Crow and destroy himself. Hey, to rebuild, sometimes that crucial. All I know is this… Them boys up at the 46forum… Them boys y’all said couldn’t do it. Them boys who had each other’s back since day one, they’re coming. Two times! Oh shit, get outta here with that shit Dr S!

Really though… A comedy of life is not funny without tragedy and soon you’ll see. When it happens, you’ll know. I’m Sid the Squid homeboy. Y’all know who the fuck we are! #letitbeknown

And that’s what it is. When the lights come on, I’ll be there.
